Budha Eden Garden of Peace

Buddha Eden Garden of Peace is located in Quinta dos Lóridos, Bombarral. With about 35 hectares, the garden was created in response to the destruction of the Buddhas of Bamyan, in one of the greatest acts of cultural barbarity, erasing masterpieces of late-period Gandhara art. From Buddhas, pagodas, terracotta statues, and various carefully-placed sculptures found among the gardens, it is estimated that around six thousand tons of marble and granite were used to create this monumental work of art.
